THOUSANDS of people dressed as Santa ran through the streets of Scotland's two biggest cities.

Some 3500 people joined the annual 5K run in Glasgow in festive costumes.

The Santa Dash raised money for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice's £15 million appeal for a new hospice.The Edinburgh event was held in Princes Street Gardens. Jennifer Easson, 40, took part in the Glasgow race with her husband and two children. She is part of the hospice fundraising team and said: "It was brilliant to see all these Santas running around Glasgow."
