POLICE investigating the Jimmy Savile scandal have arrested and questioned former pop star Gary Glitter.
The singer was arrested at his home in London and quizzed by officers at a nearby police station before being released on bail pending further inquiries. Police refused to reveal why the ageing rocker was arrested, saying only it was linked to the Savile inquiry. Glitter's arrest came as Savile's home in Glencoe was vandalised amid allegations he carried out sexual abuse at the property.
