Scotland sees modest economic growth

SCOTLAND has recorded modest economic growth while manufacturers have seen output decline.

Bank of Scotland's purchasing managers' index, an indicator of economic health, read 51.2 for the month of December, which was a moderate rise. But Donald MacRae, chief economist at Bank of Scotland, said: "These results give hope that the Scottish economy has exited the recent period of slowdown and is entering 2013 in growth mode."
