Scotland spared as RBS to cut a further 3500 jobs

Scotland has escaped the Royal Bank of Scotland’s plans to cut another 3500 jobs across the UK.

A week after the taxpayer-owned bank announced 440 workers were to lose their jobs at its Direct Line insurance division in Glasgow, the bank is to create 200 jobs in Edinburgh and Greenock.
