Scots bands to fore as the Worlds come to Glasgow

THE ScottishPower Pipe Band spoke yesterday of their delight at another strong showing in the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green.

The band finished second in the Grade 1 category behind Northern Ireland's Field Marshal Montgomery, who took the title for an eighth time. Two other Scottish bands – Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia, and Strathclyde Police – also finished in the top six.
