Rockstar win top award for Grand Theft Auto 5

SCOTTISH computer gaming talent has been recognised with a British Academy award for the multi-million pound success story, Grand Theft Auto 5.

Rockstar primarily developed the game about mafia bosses, vice and and bank robbers, not mentioning Hollywood bosses, over five years from its Edinburgh offices. It walked off with a prestigious Bafta Fellowship and three awards at last night's British Academy Games Awards in London.

The company's co-founder and president Sam Houser, accepting the accolades, said that Rockstar's success was down to the "passion for bringing worlds to life" of its 900-strong team.

"Rockstar is a team and family and it has always been our policy to focus on collaboration," he said.

There were a number of British successes at the event.
