Scots create a virtual version of US monument

IT is a national icon that depicts some of America's greatest leaders on a monumental scale.

And now the carved heads of Mount Rushmore have been immortalised in 3D for the first time by a group of Scots conservationists and historians.

A computer-generated fly-past of the sculpture has been created by a team from Glasgow School of Art and Historic Scotland to give people virtual access to the mountain and help preserve it for future generations.
