Two recordings released by Linn Records, by the Dunedin Consort and Benjamin Zander, have been nominated for Grammy awards.

The nominations, in the 57th Grammy Awards, are in the categories of Best Choral Performance and Best Surround Sound Album.

The Dunedin Consort record features Mozart's Requiem and has already won an award at the 2014 Gramophone Awards,

Benjamin Zander is a previous Grammy nominee for his recording of Mahler's Ninth Symphony, but the nomination for Mahler: Symphony No. 2 'Resurrection' is his first with Linn.

American Record Guide said of the record: "Linn's recording is absolutely twenty-first-century.

"This one goes on the shelf right alongside the supreme readings of Bernstein, Kaplan, and Solti, to mention only a few of my favorites. Add the recorded sound quality and it advances even beyond them."

The winners will be announced on February 8 next year at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Linn, an independent record label, was named record label of the year in 2010.

A Grammy Award, or Grammy, is an award given by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry.
