THE Queen's official sculptor in Scotland has said Glasgow's principal civic statues should "accept their fate, pack their bags, and take the ticket to Ellis Island".
Alexander Stoddart, whose comments come after six designs vying to transform George Square were revealed, said even proposals which retain the dozen historic statues aim to put them into "ghettos".
He further claimed that one bid would see the square "tattooed with what amounts to a swastika".
