The search for a woman reported missing more than a week ago has been widened as police continue to appeal to the public for information.

The last confirmed sighting of Kelli Ferris on CCTV is at 6.50pm on Wednesday September 10 in the Castle Street area of Aberdeen.

Officers are searching around the city's Castlegate area towards Seaton using a specialist dog following searches in the Castle Terrace area yesterday.

Detective Superintendent Mark Cooper said: "We now know that Kelli was in the Castle Street area at 6.50pm on Wednesday September 10.

"She appeared unsteady on her feet and at one point crouched down on the ground and members of the public are seen to walk past her.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time or believes they may have seen Kelli is asked to contact us.

"Even if you are not certain that it was Kelli you saw, let us know so we can decide whether your information could help with our enquiries."

Ms Ferris, 40, is described as being 5ft 4ins and slim with shoulder-length red/ginger hair.

When last seen she was wearing dark trousers, a blue jacket and was carrying a brown handbag.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
