Sheriff brands Whyte 'wholly unreliable' court witness

RANGERS owner Craig Whyte has been criticised by a sheriff for giving "wholly unreliable" evidence during a court case over an outstanding debt.

The Ibrox chairman will have to pay almost £90,000 to a Glasgow-based company over an unpaid bill for roofing supplies after Sheriff Nigel Ross found in its favour.

Yesterday's ruling comes as Whyte faces a possible Government probe over circumstances surrounding his takeover of the club in May.
