SINGER Jessie J has apologised after upsetting fans by unfollowing all but three of those she follows on Twitter.

The pop star best known for her hit Price Tag initially followed 800 then halved that to 400 before ending with just three.

And she came up against a surprise online backlash.

Cher Horowitz (@vic_katycat) said: "@JessieJ pls don't forget that your fans are the reason you're where you are. once respect is lost its hard to re-gain. being humble is key."

Ryan Bassil (@ryanbassil) added: "Jessie J tweeted 'be nice to strangers' then 24 hours later, unfollowed all her fans."

Nadine (@FiercenessArmy) said: "I'm not Jessie J fan, but I'm so p...ed off by her attitude. You cannot act so ungrateful and rude to your own fans who literally pay you."

The former judge of The Voice told one critic who said it was an odd way to treat people who pay her wages: "Stop making me out to be something I'm not."

Earlier she said: "I didn't unfollow just all my fans. Please, stop trying to create bad energy. I unfollowed half of my followers."

She added: "And when my thumb can be bothered I will unfollow the other half. Seriously guys. My love and respect for anyone isn't based in a follow."

Later she said: " I'm sorry if I offended anyone. It's NEVER my intention."
