Sir Hew steps up to Borders role

SIR HEW STRACHAN from Broughton is to take over the role of Lord Lieutenant for Tweeddale in the Scottish Borders following Captain Sir David Younger's decision to step down after 20 years.

The 64-year-old has served as a Deputy Lieutenant of Tweeddale since 2006.
