Skier bids to crowdfund her training

A SKIER aiming to compete in next year's World Championships has turned to crowdfunding to support her bid to reach the top of her sport.

Charlie Guest, from Perth, is asking supporters to pledge sums to fund her training - ranging from £5 for a thank you on one of her social media pages to £10,000 for corporate sponsorships.

She is aiming to reach the World Championships next year and the 2018 Olympics.

Guest said: "To get to the top in any sport, you have to dedicate yourself to the training, seven days a week, 12 months a year.

"I've been skiing since I was three years old and I know I can reach the summit and become world number one - I just need help with the necessary funding.

"For local people and businesses to be part of my journey is incredibly important, and I feel that I have a lot to offer."
