Skimming event gets green light

One of the "must-see events in Europe" will go ahead after a dispute between the organisers and a landowner was settled.

The 15th annual World Stone Skimming Championships on the island of Easdale, near Oban, was under threat as the island owner Jonathan Feigenbaum demanded an insurance fee for use of the land.

Organisers of the event, the Eilean Eisdeal Trust, have their own insurance but were unable to pay the fee. A media company has now donated the money.
