Rod Stewart signed copies of his autobiography today for hundreds of fans who gathered to meet him.

The musician was joined by his son Alastair at the event at a store in Glasgow. Alastair, whose mother is Rod's third wife, Penny Lancaster, will be seven on Tuesday.

The Maggie May singer chatted with fans who had brought copies of his new memoir Rod: The Autobiography to the signing at WH Smith at the city`s St Enoch Centre.

The 67-year-old tackles his career, life and loves throughout the book, tracing his tale from the very beginning.

He was greeted by cheers as he arrived at the event, with some Rod lookalikes spotted in the queue waiting to meet their music hero.

The appearance comes after the star filmed his Christmas special in Stirling Castle during the week.
