Smuggling pair jailed

TWO Scots have been jailed for running a cigarette smuggling racket that brought millions of tobacco products into the UK disguised as ice cream, yoghurt and frozen pizza.

Douglas Allison, 46, from Stranraer, and Timothy Shaw, 50, from Motherwell, were part of a four-man team behind the £2.7 million duty evasion scheme. The pair used their illegal earnings to fund upmarket holidays and property – including flats in Glasgow.
