a Leading snooker player has been suspended and an inquiry launched into suspicious betting during a match he lost to Scotland's John Higgins.

World number seven Stephen Lee will be barred from playing on the World Snooker Tour after the actions by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.

Lee, from Wiltshire, was told last week he would not face criminal charges over earlier match-fixing allegations.

He lost a Premier League match 4-2 to Higgins on Thursday.
