Snow brings chaos to roads and schools

HEAVY snow brought travel chaos to much of Scotland as drifts created hazardous driving conditions.

Dumfries and Galloway was hit badly by the winter conditions, with police in the area advising motorists to stay at home amid severe delays.

Up to 10 inches of snow fell in the region yesterday, and more than 100 schools were closed.
