Soldier prepared for Dakar rally bid

A SCOTS soldier who is a co-driver on the first disabled team to compete in the world's toughest rally, the Dakar, is due to set off on the adventure today.

Chris Ratter, originally from Glasgow, will join the challenge in Lima, Peru, where he will drive one of four Wildcat multi- terrain vehicles in the Race2Recovery event to raise money for injured UK service personnel.
