THE national body charged with promoting sport in Scotland is planning a major drive to open up school facilities to the public following the Olympics and Andy Murray's US Open win.

SportScotland will launch the campaign early next year when a national audit of facilities is complete.
The Glasgow-based organisation is also stepping up efforts to deliver nearly 100 new "community sports hubs" – which will encourage people of all ages to try new activities – by 2016.
