Store axes Santa's grotto

SCOTLAND'S most famous Santa's grotto has been axed – to make space for extra rails of children's clothing.

The fixture at Edinburgh's flagship Jenners store is one of the capital's longest-running Christmas traditions but bosses have decided to axe it following a redesign of the childrenswear department.

A spokesman for Jenners' owners House of Fraser said: "Santa will be paying us a visit between and December 17 and 23, however, due to a change in the store layout in the childrenswear department, there will unfortunately not be a Santa's grotto this year."
