IT is a contest set up to bring nations together through friendly competition and a love of music.

And it appears that the Eurovision Song Contest also managed to briefly bridge Scotland's political divide when Nicola Sturgeon and ex Labour leader Johann Lamont had a bit of a love-in over the TV cheesefest.

Sturgeon asked on Twitter why people were watching the show before the judging was done.

Her Tweet was picked up by former labour leader Johann Lamont, who replied: "Oops. Don't tell me I am in the minority. Again."

The First Minister replied: "I've now joined you (only in a #Eurovision sense I should add) and am now watching pre-vote."
