STV has been awarded local television licences for Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The two digital terrestrial TV licences will see Scottish Television work in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University and Edinburgh Napier University on daily broadcasts.
Both channels, Glasgow Television (GTV) and Edinburgh Television (ETV), are expected to be operational by October this year and will be largely news-based.
