TROUBLED Rangers owner Craig Whyte is being comforted by his Swedish girlfriend Izabella Andersson at his Highland hideaway.

Miss Andersson, 32, has been at the millionaire's side since the Ibrox club went into administration last month.

The pair – who have been together for six months – are holed up in Whyte's castle in Grantown-on-Spey, Moray.

Miss Andersson, who can speak three languages, was spotted walking in the grounds of the castle earlier this week.

Whyte, 41, met the blonde in Monaco, where she is about to complete a business degree at the principality's prestigious International University.

She already has a degree in Media and Communication Science in Sweden, an IT and internet degree from a Dutch university, and a Sociology degree from San Diego in California. A source said: "Izabella is a brainy woman. She must know what the headlines are saying – but she doesn't seem to care.

"Whyte has been under enormous pressure. He also has the worry of police and legal challenges, but Izabella has not left his side."

Despite Whyte's attempts to keep quiet about the situation at Rangers, he was reportedly duped into a prank telephone conversation with a fake potential bidder.

The chairman thought he was speaking to businessman Stewart Henderson, who wanted to invest £10 million in the club, but was actually speaking to a member of Celtic fan website Huddleboard.

During the 18-minute conversation, Whyte apparently claimed that he would be remembered as the man who saved Rangers.

He said: "You know most people will remember me for saving Rangers. That's what I came to do, that's what I intend to do."
