Syndrome campaign launched

A CAMPAIGN to raise awareness of a little-known medical condition which gives sufferers an irresistible urge to move their legs will be launched in Scotland next week.

Restless Legs syndrome affects up to 500,000 Scots, but is often misdiagnosed as experts warn it is poorly understood by the medical community.

The condition, which has been linked to a deficiency of the chemical Dopamine in the brain, causes people to suffer an overwhelming need to walk around or flex their legs, often meaning they cannot rest.
