The Edinburgh Diving Club members and friends have been training hard in time for their heats on the one and three metres boards at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.
The venue hosts the diving event which will see the likes of English superstar Tom Daley coming to the capital.
James's grandfather Peter was also a diver and the first person to use the original diving boards at the pool.
Leith-born Sir Peter, who lives in Balerno, competed in the 1948 London Olympics and was a Scottish champion from 1946 to 1958.
He was aged 24 when he took part in the three metres springboard and 10 metres highboard at the 1948 games.
James, a pupil at George Watson's College, is the Scottish national diving champion.
