The tradition of following the football team your parents supported is firmly in the past, according to a new study.
The poll of more than 2000 adults found that 48% of fans went to their first game with their father – but only 20% of them support the same team.
However, the game continues to unite families, with 92% saying that watching football, both live at the ground and on television, was a shared passion.
