TECHNICAL difficulties yesterday brought down the non-emergency police number and NHS advice helpline.
The problem affected the 101 number, which is used by the police, and the 111 number, used by NHS 24, for up to two hours. Callers were advised to dial alternative numbers while the problem was being fixed. Vodafone, which operates both numbers, apologised and said it would carry out a full investigation.
