Teenagers killed by epilepsy ‘should have been told of risk’

Two Scottish teenagers who died in their sleep as a result of having epilepsy should have been warned that the condition carries a risk of sudden death, a top neurologist told an inquiry yesterday.

Erin Casey, 19, of Lundin Links, Fife, was just six weeks into her first term at St Andrews University in October 2006 when she was found dead in her bed at her halls of residence.
