PUPILS from St Mirin's Primary School choir in Paisley sang carols as the Christmas tree lights in Glasgow's Central Station were switched on yesterday.

The event tied in with the Light Up A Life initiative run by Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, which encourages people to remember their loved ones by writing messages of remembrance within stars, which are then hung on Christmas trees. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, particularly cancer, and support for their families and carers.
