The perennial joys of spring

TYLER Atala, three, and Jamie Lee Scott, four, enjoy the Children's Garden Orchard at the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow.

Children attending Cowcaddens day nursery tended to the trees and flowers during a "blossom day" at the garden, an educational hub designed to get more youngsters outside planting and growing.

The Children's Garden was set up 10 years ago and is used as a community-led space run by volunteers. It also encourages children to grow their own food as part of the experience.
