Toggle fears spark recall of sweaters

CARDIGANS and jumpers for boys have been recalled by a major store because of fears that the toggles could be a choking hazard.

Debenhams said that toggles on its J by Jasper Conran cable knit cardigans and jumpers for boys "have fallen below our rigorous quality standards and may become detached".

A spokeswoman said: "This could cause a potential choking hazard. Debenhams is recalling these products as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its customers."

The recall involves cable knit cardigans and jumpers for ages from 12 months to six years old. The products were available at Debenhams stores in the UK and Ireland, and at Debenhams.com and Debenhams.ie, from June 16 and December 6.

Customers were asked to stop using them immediately and return them to any Debenhams store for a full refund.
