Tram stop property boost

Properties close to tram stops in Edinburgh will benefit from a price hike similar to that enjoyed by homes in London near Tube stations, it has been claimed.

Leader of Edinburgh City Council, Andrew Burns, said a property price boost is just one of the advantages the tram project will bring once it is fully operational in 2014.

Mr Burns said he was "acutely aware" of the difficulties the project has faced, but insisted it would bring "significant benefits".
