Travel chaos across Scotland

l M8 near Langbank, Renfrewshire, closed.

l River Endrick burst its banks close to the Drymen Bridge, closing the A811.

l M9 shut to all traffic while the A81 was closed between Blanesmithy and Blanefield at Dumgoyne.

l Many roads affected by surface water including, M80 at Bannockburn and A84 at Craigforth.

l High winds warnings issued for both the Forth and Friarton Road Bridges.

l Train services between Kilmarnock and Dumfries disrupted due to a landslip. Trains heading to Wemyss Bay stopped at Paisley.

Flood alerts

Central: Flooding near the Rivers Devon, Forth, Teith and Allan Water in the Hillfoots and Callander areas.

West Central Scotland:

Parts of the Kelvin and White Cart burst their banks.

Dumfries:

The River Nith flooded the Whitesands area of Dumfries.

Tayside: Officials monitoring River Earn. Widespread flooding of farms near the River Tay.

Findhorn, Nairn: All river levels running high.

Borders: Widespread flooding of agricultural land.
