Tributes as rugby star dies in crash

TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Scotland under-18 rugby internationalist following his death in a road accident.

Michael McNaughton, 24, of Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, succumbed to his injuries after his car was involved in a collision on the A9 at Dunkeld on Tuesday evening.

The graduate of Robert Gordon's College, in Aberdeen, worked in the renewables sector and, in addition to representing his country, had enjoyed a short spell playing rugby in Brisbane, Australia, during a year out after university.
