RELIGIOUS groups have paid tribute to the victims of the crash, as well as rescue workers and the public.

Glasgow Central Mosque, which is located across the Clyde from the Clutha Bar, offered support to teams on Friday night.

Asid Khan, general secretary of the mosque and Islamic centre, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."

The Archbishop of Glasgow, Philip Tartaglia, held a Mass at St Andrew's Cathedral - just a few hundred metres from the crash site - for everyone involved in the incident.

He said: "My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by this tragic accident."

Right Rev Lorna Hood, moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, said: "The emergency services are to be thanked for their quick response and expertise."
