TRIBUTES have been paid to a road worker who died on Scotland's busiest motorway after being hit by a tipper lorry.

Ryan McNally, 33, from Stirling, was working on the M8 near Glasgow Airport when the Scania lorry reversed into him.

He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene at around 11.30pm on Monday.

The collision happened on the viaduct near Junction 28 and the road was closed while an investigation was carried out.

Aggregate Industries described him as an "exemplary" employee. The Health and Safety Executive confirmed it is investigating the man's death.
