Three people have been injured in a three-car collision in Edinburgh.

The incident involving a Ford Fiesta, a Ford C Max and an Audi A4 happened at around 7.30pm on Friday on Gilmerton Road.

Three people were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated for injuries.

The road was closed while police carried out an investigation into the collision.

Inspector Tracey Robinson said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to contact police on 101."
