Investigations are under way after three separate blazes in Edinburgh.
Firefighters tackled flames at properties in the city between Saturday evening and yesterday morning. Several people were either led to safety or treated by paramedics as a result of fires.
In one incident, crews had to deal with intense heat and thick smoke engulfing all floors of an empty terraced house.
They were called to Cameron Park, Edinburgh, at around 10.50pm by the occupants of the house next door. Some 10 firefighters wearing breathing equipment, and six fire engines, were involved in extinguishing the blaze.
In an earlier incident, shortly before 8pm, crews were called to a fire in a first-floor flat in the city's Oxgangs Gardens.
Two men, one aged 32 and the other 23, were led to safety.
In the final incident, the service was called to Muirhouse Park at 3.13am yesterday, where there was a fire in a storage area of the common stairway in a three-storey block of flats.
A 46-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation.
