But Lismore RFC may have won the dubious honour of losing by the biggest margin ever recorded on the club circuit after conceding - depending on who you speak to - 148 or 159 points without opening their account in a match against Berwick.
The latter scored 12 tries in the first half and doubled that number in the second period in a game which added insult to injury for Lismore, who had been crushed 133-0 by Dalkeith just the week before.
Lismore's secretary, Alan Soden, said: "We had no front row, a 52-year-old prop, and we suffering some terrible problems with lack of numbers at the moment. I very much hope this is a short-term blip, but you can't fault the commitment of our players."
In fairness, even Berwick's team manager, Owen Weatherhead, was impressed by how Lismore kept battling, despite being pummelled into the dust. "They never stopped tackling and kept making an effort to stop us scoring again, again and again."
