TV chef's relief at city council approval for alcohol licence

TV chef Nick Nairn yesterday expressed his relief at being granted a provisional licence to sell alcohol at his new Cook School in Aberdeen.

His application, which was discussed and approved at the city's licensing board yesterday, had raised an objection from Grampian Police, who said there were already too many licensed premises in the city centre and the area had been troubled by alcohol-fuelled crime and violence.
