Two hurt as armed police called to Highland disturbance

Two people have been taken to hospital after a "serious disturbance" which saw armed police being called.

Officers were called to an incident involving a number of people outside a property on the Mansfield estate in Tain in the Highlands at around 5.20pm yesterday.

A 38-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man had been assaulted and were taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are described as serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.
