Luxury underwear brand Ultimo has reported the strongest online December sales in its 16-year history from its direct website, with 24%growth compared to the last Christmas period.

The most popular products included the Miracle OMG Plunge range of bust-boosting bras with in-built silicone gel, and a collection of everyday bras.

Michelle Mone, founder of Ultimo, said: "Breaking our December sales record is a great way to start the year, but perhaps more significantly signals a new phase of growth and success for the brand."

To coincide with the new collection, Ultimo will revamp its website to and start a new advertising campaign featuring Strictly Come Dancing winner Abbey Clancy.
