Vigil for murdered officers

Murdered police officers Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes will be laid to rest at separate funerals over two days next week at Manchester Cathedral.

The plans were announced as a vigil was held at the scene, a week after the killings on the Hattersley estate in Tameside, Greater Manchester.

Hundreds of people gathered in the rain in silence at 10.58am, the exact time they died. Colleagues of Ms Bone, 32, and Ms Hughes, 23, bowed their heads as their friends were remembered.
