MORE than 100 staff and guests at one of Scotland's most luxurious hotels have been struck down by a vomiting and diarrhoea bug.

NHS Tayside has launched an investigation into the outbreak of norovirus at the Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, after dozens of people connected to the five-star resort reported symptoms of the illness over the past week.

Staff who are suffering from the infection have been told to stay away until 48 hours after they are clear of the virus and the health board has advised the hotel on infection control measures in a bid to curb the spread of the infection.
