AN injured man has been airlifted to hospital in Inverness after he got into difficulty while out hill-walking.

Police Scotland said the alarm was raised by two men at 2.30pm on 3,310ft Beinn Eighe at Torridon in Wester Ross.

A search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth picked up members of Torridon Mountain Rescue Team before heading to the scene.

The helicopter was being refuelled it landed on the mountain and flew the man to Raigmore Hospital.

His condition is not known.
