ACTOR Benedict Cumberbatch, star of BBC television series Sherlock, is bringing to life original D-Day bulletins on Radio 4.

The 37-year-old, along with fellow stars Toby Jones and Sir Patrick Stewart, are reading selections for the original scripts of 70 years ago. They began yesterday and will continue today and tomorrow on Sunday on the programmes Broadcasting House and The World This Weekend.

Some 200 pages from the now disbanded Home Service have been published online.
