Avalanche experts will begin issuing forecasts this week in an effort to cut the number of deaths in the Scottish mountains.
Mountaineers, climbers and off-piste skiers are being urged to check the daily reports for danger areas before heading for the hills. The service starts tomorrow at www.sais.gov.uk.
