Weather hits search for Scot

EFFORTS to find a Scot who has gone missing in the Welsh mountains have been hampered by bad weather.

Mountain rescue services looking for Gerry Coyle, 65, on Mount Snowdon had hoped to use a helicopter yesterday.

However, high winds and snow on the peak meant the attempt had to be called off. Instead, plans were made to send a smaller team to carry out a new search from the ground.

Mr Coyle, who is originally from Glasgow but now lives in Rugby, Warwickshire, has not been seen since he went to the summit on Thursday, October 25.

It is thought the father-of-two decided to walk back down the tourist path. He did not return to the Padarn Lake Hotel in Llanberis.
